I actually completed a Body for Life challenge–Woohoo! I’m working on Challenge 2 now. After the first 12 weeks, I’m down 16 inches, 4% body fat and almost 2 sizes. I’m amazed that I stuck with it, and I’m very proud of myself.
Not only did I improve my body, I improved my mind and spirit. I’ve started writing again (nothing big, just picking up pen, putting it to paper), I’m taking a trip on my own, and I’ve rekindled my passion for music. No, I don’t sing or play–I just listen, and I’m always on the lookout for something new now. Or something old that moves me.
One new song that I really like is Amos Lee’s “Arms of a Woman.” What a beautiful, haunting, aching song. Love his voice and the soft melody. And some old ones? A little .38 Special gets me going…”If I’d Been the One”… Van Halen’s “When It’s Love” brings back memories of my first summer out of high school… “Be My Baby” by the Ronettes is “our song”… And, no jokes please, I like Bo Bice’s version of “Vehicle.” Seriously.
Some old writing reappeared, and I plan to expand on it and maybe submit it somewhere. Mainly I just want to finish it. There are a lot of things I just want to finish…my daughter’s 1st year scrapbook, redoing our bedroom, my husband’s CD requests, paying off credit cards…
But the first thing I’m going to finish is this post.
Goodnight.
